a flowery thank you

Just a quick post of one of those many cards from the backlog. They sure do pile up quickly and steadily.

I made this card as a thank you for my mother in-law. She’s a papercrafter as well (scrapbooking, mostly), so I know she appreciates a hand made card. She sent me a couple of die sets for my birthday, including the ones used in this card.

Garden gate & Arbor

To make this card, I created a watercolor background using my Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set and then used the Garden Arbor and Gate and Arbor Accessories die sets from Taylored Expressions. I didn’t have any fence dies, so I cut a second gate and trimmed off the top and then cut it into two pieces to flank the gate. The “thank you” sentiment came from a set of random sentiments from Hero Arts, I think. Probably. Sounds likely.

You know, I’m not sure I would have bought this die set for myself and I wasn’t sure how I was going to use it. But I ended up really liking it! I’m glad Irene pushed me out of my comfort zone a bit.
