Inspired by…#33

Hi everyone, I’m back with a card for the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge, #33. Here is this week’s inspiration photo:

And here is my card.

I love bottle brush trees, so that’s what I used from the photo. I used the bottle brush tree stamps from the Β O Christmas TreeΒ set from Concord and 9th to create the background, as well as the small “noel” and “joy” stamps. Β Then I die-cut the large Joy using the Joy die, also from Concord and 9th. On another panel of card stock, I used both the thin and thick Joy stamps from the coordinating stamp set, embossing the thin Joy. I added some gold twine (from the $1 spot at Target!), layered my panels and adhered to a card base.

I used Summer Splash and Tropical Teal dye inks from My Favorite Things and Festive Berries and Crushed Coral Distress Inks. I thought they matched the colors in the inspiration photo quite nicely.

Paper products are from Paper Source – I used 4-bar flat cards and folded cards in eco white. And do you love these bottle brush trees I got from Michaels? I’m planning on making a little jar “snow globe” with some of them, but for now, they are photo props.

That’s it for now. If I don’t get back before then, Happy Thanksgiving (or Happy Thursday) to everyone.

Watercolor Wednesday: Holiday Edition

So many cards

Are you ready for the holidays? (I’ll wait for you to stop laughing)

I’m kind of excited this year, because this will be my first holiday season as a card maker. That might explain why I’ve gone off the deep end ordering every holiday themed stamp and die set out there. Oh, and those dies that you can use to make felt Christmas ornaments? Got those too. I will be answering only to “Martha” this season, thank you.

So let’s jump right into the Christmas cards pile, shall we?

I have completely fallen for the Hand Lettered Holiday sentiment stamps from My Favorite Things. I’ve been using them on practically every card I make. I’m also obsessed with snowflakes. I’ve lost track of how many snowflake stamps I have now, but that didn’t stop me from getting the Snowflake Flurry set. I love the retro look of them.

Continuing the theme of watercolor backgrounds…

I posted a preview of this card on Instagram awhile ago. I snagged the last “joy” stamp from my local Michael’s last season, when I was just starting to dabble but didn’t really have the necessary tools for card making. I really love the way this stamp embossed with such detail.

Are you making holiday cards or other holiday crafts?
